Privacy
Night Worlds is a browser experience built around radio frequencies. It is deliberately light on data — there are no accounts, no advertising, and no cookies.
What is collected
- First-party analytics. Anonymous, cookie-less usage events (page loaded, tune in, audio started, station changed, minutes listened, mute, rain override, source changes). Each browser gets a random identifier stored in
localStorage, not a cookie. No personal data, no cross-site tracking, no fingerprinting. - Third-party measurement. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic and site performance. Cloudflare Web Analytics is designed without cross-site user tracking and does not use cookies for this purpose. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Server logs. Our own resolver records requests (time, path, response status, and the IP address as part of any HTTP request). Logs are used for reliability and abuse prevention and are not used to build profiles.
- Weather. The current conditions come from Open-Meteo, queried for the city of the station you are tuned to. No location permission is requested; the city is chosen by the station, not by you.
- Map tiles. Cartography is provided by CARTO. Your browser requests tiles directly from their servers.
Audio sources
Night Worlds does not host music. Each frequency points to an external live stream, and the source is always named on screen. When you listen, your browser connects directly to that broadcaster, so they can see your IP address just as any radio server would. Streams are used live and are not recorded or re-published.
What is not done
- No cookies, no cookie banner, no consent pop-ups.
- No advertising, no ad networks, no selling of data.
- No analytics profiles tied to an identity.
